Frequently asked questions

Am I a fit for BDN?

If you’re facing public attention, or expect to, you’re likely a fit. Schedule a complimentary call and we’ll give you a straight answer. We work with clients whose needs range from addressing missing or inaccurate information in search results, AI answers, or Wikipedia, to those facing complex issues involving deepfakes and disinformation campaigns.

What are your rates?

Every engagement is scoped to the situation, so pricing varies. The initial call is complimentary. From there, we’ll give you a clear, fixed quote before any paid work begins. Your fee reflects the complexity of your situation, never the cost or type of solution we recommend.

Do you take commissions from specialist firms?

No. We work for you, which is why BDN does not accept commissions, referral fees, or other compensation from specialists.

Do I have to do all the steps of the reputational diagnostic?

No. Each phase is scoped and delivered on its own, and you can choose to pause or continue after any of them.

Am I obligated to take on a specialist if I go through the full process?

No. Our role is to bring you qualified specialists and provide guidance to inform your decision. The final decision to engage a firm or not is up to you.

What if I just need a quick recommendation for one specialist?

We adjust the scope of our engagement based on your needs, so give us a call.

What kinds of specialists do you work with?

We work with specialists across five reputational protection categories: PR, social media, technology, legal, and security. Examples include media relations, crisis management, media training, speechwriting, social media strategy and management, platform escalation, social listening, SEO and AI search, Wikipedia, narrative intelligence, deepfake detection, reputation and media law, digital evidence and expert support, digital privacy, and harassment and threat detection. This list is not exhaustive. If you don’t see your need here, give us a call.

Do you provide any of these specialist services yourself?

We don’t execute reputational services ourselves. We focus on vetting and connecting. One exception: clients have the option of doing media training with us or working with an outside specialist.

Do you provide legal advice?

No, we aren’t a law firm, but we can point you in the right direction.

Couldn’t I just ask Google or AI for reputational specialist recommendations?

You certainly can, but search results won’t give you an informed, independent perspective on which specialists are qualified, available, or right for your situation. Give us a quick call and we’re happy to discuss what you found.

Do you take on clients who want accurate information removed or suppressed?

No. We don’t knowingly take on clients, or recommend specialists, whose goal is to remove accurate information, mislead audiences, or violate the law.

Is our conversation confidential?

Yes. We’re also willing to sign an NDA as part of an engagement when needed.

Do you work with clients outside the US?

Yes, but we discuss BDN’s capabilities with every prospective client, US-based or not, before taking them on. If we believe someone would be better served elsewhere, we’ll say so.

If your firm works in one or more reputational protection categories, we're glad to hear from you at info@bdnadvisors.com.
